THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE NIGERIAN CHILD ON CHILDREN'S DAY 2017

Students of Peace Concept Intl School, Port Harcourt. In Nigeria, May 27th is marked as "Children's Day". It was established in Nigeria by United Nations. A day set aside to celebrate childhood. The activities held on that day include marching parade usually at the stadium organized by various state governments. Schools send in representatives. The best performing school goes with a cup prize. On this occasion, parents take their kids to pleasure parks, eatery's and other fun places to mark the day. Notwithstanding, I believe the Nigerian child would have preferred that this day be a day of empowerment to kids. By giving them learning materials like school bags, revelant textbooks, notebooks, appropriate school uniforms, shoes, socks, lunch packs, writing pens, pencils, crayons, drawing books and boards, mathematical sets, calculators, computers and educational pads also.  I believe the Nigerian Child would have loved to receive life changing opportuni
